Alexander R. Podkul, Ph.D.

Welcome! I'm Alexander Podkul, a survey methodologist and Senior Director on the Research Science team at Morning Consult. I am also an adjunct professor at the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University, where I teach courses on applying data science to politics and public policy. Previously, I worked as a data scientist at 0ptimus Analytics, developing voter turnout models for DecisionDeskHQ.

Over the past decade, my work has focused on methodological challenges in quantitative research and computational social science, particularly in data collection and public opinion measurement. In the past decade, I've worked across academia, think tanks, private consulting, and industry. My recent research centers on two areas: improving data quality in online surveys and testing new approaches to increase the accuracy of political polling.
