PPOL 6803 (670): Introduction to Data Science

A graduate-level course introducing students to the core concepts of data science, including data wrangling, visualization, modeling, and communication of research findings. The course is taught using R.

PPOL 502: Regression Methods for Policy Analysis

A graduate-level course as part of McCourt’s 3-part quantitative research sequence, introducing students to regression analysis. The course is taught using Stata.

GOVT 5200: Approaches/Topics in American Politics

A graduate-level seminar course in Georgetown’s MAAG program surveying the subfields that make up contemporary American Politics covering political behavior and institutions through a variety of methodological approaches.

PPOL 646: Data Visualization

A graduate-level course introducing students to the core principles behind producing effective data visualizations. The course combines the theory behind data visualization with a hands-on component so students can learn-by-making. The course is taught usinig R and Tableau.

GOVT 332: Campaigns & Elections

An undergraduate-level course in the Department of Government covering all sides of contemporary political campaigns. The course uses live dynamics through an election cycle as a way to explore the major topics of election administration, campaign finance, and political strategy.
